Dear Family and Friends,

Welcome to our journey! The kids are all grown up, my school is completed. Dan has worked in the foundry for more than his allotted time. Just when it seems like it is time to relax, what happens? God is still calling! Yes! He is!

There is no doubt that our original mission of raising eight children was daunting. But God was faithful even when, at times, our faith lagged behind - sometimes WAY behind! Our children are people that we now look up to and respect and are happy to say love Jesus! Now what?

Well, Ladies and Gentlemen . . .

God is knocking again, asking us to take what we've learned and head to Europe. Yes, Europe! No, we're not going on vacation! We are going to live in a tiny room in a community building expressly used to house people God is calling for work in England and Central Europe. Our discipleship training will include advanced training in photography which we will use as a way to honor the people we are serving. With our photography, we will be able to share the stories of the local people, stories that need to be told. We will be doing this to help bring about needful changes in society, such as better care for single women with families, or free education for the poor or homeless.

We only have a cursory view of how we will be serving, but as we find out more we will definitely be sharing the information with you. But as you all know, this ministry is not free for us. We are not allowed to hold a job while in training, we must raise our own support. As those of you who are artists may understand, we have no retirement to fall back on, we simply have Dan's Social Security alone. We are asking our friends and family to please pray that God will send the funds we need to maintain ourselves while we learn and serve. And while your prayers are what we are asking for here, anyone interested in donating can simply press the "donate" button at the bottom of this post. Your donations will be gratefully accepted!

As most of you know, Dan and I are lighthearted and enjoy laughter and fun, but in all seriousness, this journey, while we assume will include the former, will also include sorrow and pain. From our children's journeys through God's awesome plans, we have learned this first hand. Our children have answered God's calling into the world of missionary work. Some are now in other countries, others are in between their next journey abroad, some have returned and some are doing their work right here in the United States (in fact our precious granddaughter, Adele is even doing her part - still!) There is no place on earth that God is not working! Our decision to go to York was simply made because that is where God asked us to go. I look now at His master plan, I see His hand in our marriage, our children, our education, our vocations and now our future. I hope you join with us on this journey of celebration, because that is what this truly is!

God bless you all!

Dan & Sheri
